Otaku Sunday #4: One anime and one dying bread

This won’t be one of those long Otaku Sunday posts because I have three exams in two days (isn’t college so nice sometimes? NO! It is not normal to have two exams one after the other and the next morning another one!). And since it seems like the end of me and my positive attitude I want to present you a show with a really bright and sunny view on a post-apocalyptic world where the humanity is coming to an end. That is right, guys, I am talking about Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita.

Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita is a peculiar comedy anime slightly different than your usual comedy anime. Yes, it is strange but lately I realized that these “strange anime shows for the sake of being strange” have in fact a deeper and most of the times great meaning or idea.

In Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita, the humanity is almost extinct and another race is ready to take over our lovely planet, the fairies. Our protagonist is the intermediar between the two races. The series has 12 episode – but it’s more like 6 because each story has two parts.

The best part of this show is the contrast between the themes it approaches and the art style it uses. Episodes focus on serious subjects from real life like mass-production, consumerism, overpopulation, democracy and monarchy. And all these are portrayed in a colorful manner and a slightly happy tone and atmosphere. It’s the perfect satire to our society.

Once again, I apologize for the lack of content in this OS and I leave you, guys, with my favourite moment from Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita:
