So… I have a new tumblr!

Let’s skip the introduction already. The tumblr is called The Room Diary and it makes no sense but whatever. Here’s the link if you are curious.

I don’t know why but I feel like there is a difference between a blog and a tumblr… well, depending on what you on what kind of blogs, tumblrs you make but mine are both personal (more or less). But I feel like a blog post should be more… organized? With a certain subject, longer and… you get the idea right?

But my tumblr is more like a diary and we all know that a diary is funnier if it’s on the internet because who cares about intimacy anymore? I’m just joking but to be honest I was never that kind of person who kept her diary for herself – I’d rather keep the fictional stuff that I write for myself than my diary and I have no idea why. But things are what they are.

So my tumblr is more of a place, a room, where I can sketch little bits and pieces of my ideas and thoughts really. And also a place to share pictures without bugging too many people.

Well this is not my first contact with tumblr so you might wonder why now? (Actually, I know you are not, but just let me write and enjoy myself.) It started with this youtube video:

And the food tumblr they recommend. The pictures from Margaret Makes Dinner are so inspiring that they made me do a blog where to share my meals too (also, I got some ideas for what to eat from her) – but I am sharing more than that.

PS: I am pretty sorry about the lack of posts but… I don’t like making excuses so see you next time! (Probably tomorrow with my Otaku Sunday.)

Introducing Some Kind of a Film Club

So… I used to have a Film Club with actual members and we used to meet every Thursday or something like that and talk about two movies per week. But then Summer was over and college was back and I go to college somewhere VERY VERY far from home or from the city the other members go to college. So we decided to change the Summer Film Club into the Skypian Film Club and host our meetings on Skype. Things didn’t go that well and we meet rarely but it was fun.

Until things started to break and some members were out other were back and then PUFF I get angry and shut it down because the members weren’t leaving and coming in a respectful way or they already left and the rest of us had no idea or they were still at the meeting but probably had something in their mouths because they were definitely not participating.

Whatever really. College is busy and it’s hard to make time to watch the movie so imagine to even spend two hours talking about it, right? Seriously, no, people can make time if they really want to. I can make time if I really want to. I make time for NaNoWriMo but I don’t make time to reply to Gina’s letter (promise I will do it this weekend so don’t be mad at me!). So see… time is not a problem. And since time is not a problem I can make some time to write a post about four films, right? It will probably be monthly or whenever I watch those four films.

Why four? Because our Film Club had four types of films: something old – pretty self-explanatory right? for a long time here were the films from the beginning to 1989 (but at the last meeting we change it to 1999 – I will keep the 1989 for a while probably), something new – well… new films from 1990 to… pretty much the present day, something borrowed – European films, Asian films, anything but American films (USA ones…), something blue – the random film, but I will probably pick a film that is cheesy, not-my-type, guilty pleasure or whatever. If I’m having a good month for films I might even add stuff like films from the Cinema, TV show of the month or stuff like that.

It’s going to be fun, really! I am pretty excited about it and I even picked some films to re-watch (I know I should try new movies but I really need to recommend you some movies I love!!). Wish me luck and tell me what you think. You can even join me and post some old, new, borrowed, blue (not SAD) films on your blog!

Otaku Sunday #0: A Day Late

Otaku Sunday is a series I did on my last blog. I planned to move it on this blog but I missed the first Sunday. School keeps me really busy. So I am using this Sun…Monday to talk about it.

I don’t consider myself an otaku because, frankly, I’m not, but I really like the name of the series and I don’t want to change it. And I do love anime and manga and all that jazz and I need a place to talk about it, share my opinions and recommend stuff if you are interested. I write reviews on MAL from time to time, but it’s not like writing an Otaku Sunday.

The way I normally do them is by presenting an anime and a manga – usually the most read in that week -, and sometimes a surprise like some anime news I’m really excited about. But there are also special Otaku Sundays like the ones in the beginning of a new Anime Season when I present what anime I am going to watch orĀ  first impressions.

To be honest, these are my favourite type of blog posts. I don’t know why. And it’s not important why. So I challenged myself to not miss a Sunday this year (ha, ha, I missed the first one). It’s going to be hard especially these first Sundays when I am so busy with college, but I am positive that I am able to do it!

So, please, read them, even if you are not interested in anime&manga because maybe if you give it a chance you might be surprised.

A new beginning?

This is not my first blog. I had one for more than four years, but a couple of months ago I couldn’t write on it like I used to. It was hard to take the decision to quit it but I feel at peace now.

For this new blog… I won’t make any promises. I might stop any day now, though there is a “keep blogging” task on my list with things to do ’till I’ll be 22 y/o. But I can’t predict the future and as long as I am okay with how things are right now it doesn’t matter.

Wish me luck!
